The Cellar Fire, burning south of Prescott, is now 18-percent contained and has grown to over 73-hundred acres. So far, Pine Flat is the only area under evacuation orders. Residents can go to a shelter that has been set up at Prescott High School. Fire officials issued the “Ready” Code Red Alert earlier this week for Walker, Groom Creek, Wolf Creek, Potato Patch and Indian Creek. A Cellar Fire Closure Order is in effect for everything south of Wolf Creek, including Potato Patch, south to Crown King. The community of Crown King remains open. A Type 1 Incident Management Team has taken over command of the fire. Smoke will be seen in Prescott and surrounding areas over the next few days. The Cellar Fire Information line has been set up for people wanting information on the fire. The number is (928) 442-5103 or (928) 925-1111 and it’s staffed from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
