Fire managers on the Kaibab National Forest will begin fire treatments on the first units of the Three Sisters Prescribed Fire Project near Williams Friday. The project is expected to take multiple days to complete, however ignitions will only take place on days where smoke impacts will be minimal. The 74-hundred acre area is located just north of Williams and Interstate-40, east of Forest Road 124 and west of Airport Road and Highway 64. Area residents can expect to see and hear a helicopter as part of the operation. Smoke will be highly visible from Williams and area highways and drift to the northeast.
