Intentional Fire Set In Hopi Hills Neighborhood Near Winslow On Saturday

Coconino Country Sheriff’s Office has arrested a person after they set an unoccupied building on fire in the Hopi Hills neighborhood, west of Winslow. CCSO received a report of an explosion near the corner of Well Field Road and Coconino Way Saturday morning. Winslow Fire Department responded to an unoccupied parcel in the neighborhood where fire officials reported finding a vacant structure and surrounding brush on fire, which they extinguished. CCSO investigated and discovered a suspicious vehicle seen leaving the area at the time of the incident. Upon locating the vehicle, CCSO contacted Winslow resident Ariel Robertson, arrested them in connection to the incident, and booked them into Coconino County Detention Center. Robertson was charged with arson of an unoccupied structure, endangerment, aggravated driving under the influence, possession of a dangerous drug, and violation of a fire ban.
