The Safeway Store on Highway 89 in East Flagstaff has reopened after the back corner of the store suffered severe damage yesterday afternoon due to ice and snow on the roof of the building. The incident happened at about 4 p.m. and the store was immediately evacuated. There were no injuries reported. Fire officials say six or seven trusses failed and came down about 12-to-18 inches on the back wall. When those fell, it broke the sprinkler line. Inspectors looked at the damage last night and the store re-opened this morning.
