A High Wind Warning will be in effect for today for Northern Arizona, including the Greater Flagstaff Area, Williams, Prescott, the Grand Canyon, the Navajo Nation and the White Mountains. The warning will run from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. Forecasters are calling for winds to be 40-to-50 miles-per-hour with gusts up to 70 miles an hour at times. Winds this strong could cause property damage and power outages. Also, if you are in a high profile vehicle, high winds could blow you off the highway and cause reduced visibility due to blowing dust. If you are traveling today, use caution.
