Governor Doug Ducey Declares State Of Emergency In Coconino County Due To Flooding

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey declared a State of Emergency for Coconino County in response to recent flooding that began July 23rd. Declaring a State of Emergency makes the city eligible for additional resources to support disaster response. Governor Ducey will send Arizona National Guards to assist with flood mitigation measures such as sandbag assembling. The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry’s Wildland Fire and Arizona Healthy Forest crews have also been assisting in sandbag-making. Coconino County reminds residents to be prepared for evacuation or shelter-in-place orders by assembling an emergency kit containing clothes, medicine, and important documents. If you haven’t done so yet, you can sign up for emergency notifications by going to Coconino.AZ.Gov/Ready.
