Future Fallen Nurses Memorial Dedicated Saturday In Flagstaff

A future memorial for fallen nurses was dedicated Saturday afternoon in Flagstaff. The Arizona Nurses Association and Better Place Forests partnered on the project, which will be a part of 160-acres they own off Hart Prairie Road north of Arizona Snowbowl. Eleanor Hooker with Better Place Forests says the partnership between the two was a natural fit for the memorial. She says the Arizona Nurses Association, “was seeking a way to honor the health care professionals who lost their lives during the pandemic and as soon as we heard about their vision for the memorial, we knew it was a natural fit for this site.” When completed, the memorial will have strings of small discs, which will have the name of a fallen nurse on each disc. The memorial will contain about a thousand discs. When completed, anyone can visit the memorial, but it will also be a special place for current nurses and health care professionals to visit, reflect and spend time remembering those who came before them. Financial donations to finish the project can be made at
