A former Winslow High School wrestling coach was sentenced to six years in prison this week, after pleading guilty to sex crimes involving underage children. Authorities say 40-year-old Daniel Scott Larsen was indicted on more than 20 counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, child molestation, dangerous crimes against a child and solicitation of a child, however he pled guilty to five counts, including three counts of public sexual indecency to a minor. Between August 2021 and May of 2022, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office received reports from four women stating they were sexually abused between 1993 and 1999, by Larsen. In June of 2022, a 23-year-old female reported that between the years of 2014 and 2017, she was sexually abused by Larsen, while she was a student at Winslow High School and he was the wrestling coach. After serving his prison sentence, Larsen will be placed on supervised probation for 15 years, register as a sex offender and do 300 hours community service.
