Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Passed Away Friday At Age 93

Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor has died at age 93. She spent many years in Arizona and was the first woman to serve on the high court after being appointed by then President Ronald Reagan. Before being a Supreme Court Justice, O’Connor served on the Maricopa County Superior Court and then the Arizona Court of Appeals. She was on the U.S. Court of Appeals when she was appointed to the high court. Before her journey to the highest court in the land began, O’Connor grew up on the Lazy B Ranch near Duncan, Arizona in the southeastern part of the state. The court said she died from complications related to advanced dementia and a respiratory illness.
