Former NAU quarterback Case Cookus made his USFL debut, and threw his first professional touchdown pass, in the Philadelphia Stars 24-16 loss to the New Jersey Generals Sunday. He came into the game in the third quarter when starting quarterback Brian Scott left the game with a lower-body injury. On his second drive, Cookus drove the Stars down the field and connected with former Clemson wide receiver Diondre Overton for a nine-yard touchdown pass. Cookus was 13-of-20 for 146 yards and a touchdown in his debut. The Stars fall to 1-2 on the season.
