The man who built the Mingus Union High School football team into a region power will reportedly take over at Bradshaw Mountain High School. KAFF News has learned from selection committee member Matt Showalter that 59-year-old Bob Young has been chosen to take over as the Bears new football coach, pending approval from the Humboldt Unified School District governing board. Young takes over at Bradshaw Mountain after the death of head coach Chuck Moller back in May. Young spent last season at Sedona Red Rock High School, where he resigned after the season and then the school dropped football. Young spent 24 years coaching the Mingus Marauders, guiding them to a 178-98-and-1 record with two state runner-up finishes and a state title in 1997.
