Former Flagstaff City Councilwoman Eva Putzova is eyeing a run at Congress. She filed a “statement of candidacy” form with the Federal Elections Committee Wednesday afternoon, forming the committee “Eva Putzova For Congress.” She plans to run in the 2020 election in Congressional District One. Putzova is coming off a four-year term on the Flagstaff City Council and championed the city’s minimum wage act. The announcement could set up a primary election for the Democratic nod against incumbent Congressman Tom O’Halleran, if he decides to run for re-election. In response to Putzova’s announcement, O’Halleran told KAFF News “there will be plenty of time to talk about the 2020 election, but right now Congressman O’Halleran is focused on the issues impacting Arizona families today.”
