Former Arizona Congressman and former gubernatorial candidate, Matt Salmon, announced Wednesday that he is entering the race for Arizona Governor in 2022. Salmon said in a video announcement says he plans on listening to Arizonans statewide. He says, “in the coming months I’ll be listening and learning from you.” Salmon adds issues he will be focused on include: “securing our border, enforcing our immigration laws and stopping the flow of drugs and criminals into our neighborhoods.” He also plans to “build on our strong economic foundation, cutting taxes and attracting new industries and jobs.” Salmon lost a close race for governor in 2002 to Janet Napolitano. He is the fourth Republican candidate for governor.
