A Flood Watch is in effect through Wednesday evening for areas near rivers and creeks that could overflow due to more runoff from the state’s winter. The watch is in effect for portions of east central Arizona, Northern Gila County including Payson, Oak Creek and Sycamore Canyons and Yavapai County valleys and basins. The National Weather Service says flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes and over recent burn areas. Low-water crossings could also experience flooding, which could create deadly travel conditions. Remember, if a road or crossing is flooded, don’t cross and risk being stuck or swept away.
