A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Northern Arizona for today through 11 p.m. The National Weather Service says deep moisture is in place across the region, which will lead to a round of widespread showers and thunderstorms capable of producing high rainfall rates. We’ve already seen strong storms move through the Prescott area this morning. Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes and over recently burned areas. Low-water crossings could also experience flash flooding, which would create deadly travel conditions. Consider changing your plans if you were going to hike, boat, or paddleboard to a slot canyon or normally dry wash, especially this afternoon. If you live in a flood prone area and get a shelter-in-place alert, be ready for flood waters in your area. We will have more, if flooding occurs, on the KAFF News Facebook and Twitter accounts.
