A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Saturday for portions of Northern Arizona including the Greater Flagstaff Area and Prescott. The National Weather Service says a surge of subtropical moisture will bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms to the region. Periods of heavy rainfall will be possible both during the daytime and nighttime hours. The ground could quickly become saturated, which increases the risk for flash flooding. Areas in the flood watch include: The Grand Canyon, Seligman, Ash Fork, Williams, Munds Park, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Cordes Junction, Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona. Flooding is possible in creeks, normally dry washes and low-water crossings. If you come to a crossing that is flooded, think twice and don’t cross it.
