Flagstaff’s minimum wage will be going up to $16.80 an hour on January 1st. The increase stems from an ordinance passed by the voters in November of 2016, and amended by the city council in 2017. The Minimum Wage Ordinance covers all people in the city who work, or expected to work, 25 or more hours a week in any calendar year. Tipped minimum wage will be $14.80 an hour. This increase is determined by the Consumer Price Index. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the Consumer Price Index numbers for August of 2022 Tuesday. The CPI for August 2022 was 8.3-percent greater than for August 2021. Accordingly, the minimum wage in the City of Flagstaff will increase from $15.50 per hour to $16.80 per hour January 1st.
