Dynamite found at a Chino Valley home Sunday, causes Chino Valley Police to call Flagstaff Police for help. At around 11:36 a.m., police responded to a house in the 100-block of East Liana Drive. The reporting party told officers they were cleaning out an old barn on the property when they found around five sticks of old dynamite. When officers arrived they secured the area and contacted the Flagstaff Police Department Bomb Squad to help with removing and destruction of the old explosives. The dynamite was successfully removed and was taken to a safe location out on Perkinsville Road, where it was detonated and destroyed. There were no injuries reported and no other dynamite was found. No arrests have been made, as it appears the explosives had been there, undetected, for several years.
