Flagstaff Police responded to a call of a shooting early Wednesday morning in Flagstaff. Officers arrived at the one-thousand block of North Beaver Street at around 12:45 a.m. They found that two apartments were hit by gunfire, both of which were occupied at the time of the shooting. During the investigation, a suspect was identified as a former roommate of two tenants of the primary apartment. Police arrested 23-year-old Kyler Lewis during a high-risk traffic stop and was suspected of being the shooter. Lewis was stopped by police going back to the victim’s apartment armed with several weapons. A search warrant was later executed on a hotel room belonging to Lewis where additional firearms, narcotics, and narcotic equipment were seized. Lewis was booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, felony endangerment, threatening and intimidating, discharging a firearm at a structure, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, misconduct involving weapons during a drug offense, and criminal damage. No one was injured as a result of the gunfire.
