Flagstaff is having a record month when it comes to snowfall. The National Weather Service says so far, the Flagstaff Airport has received 57.9 inches of snow in January. The amount is the fourth highest since 1898, which is how far back weather records have been kept. The normal snowfall for Flagstaff in January is 20.9 inches. The most snowfall in January was in 1949, when 104.8 inches of snow fell. Second place is reachable. Flagstaff is just an inch-and-a-half from third place and five-and-a-half inches from the second highest total ever in January. So far this season, 82 inches of snow has fallen at the Flagstaff Airport.
