The Flagstaff City Council will meet Tuesday in council chambers with a lot to go over. Council will vote for the final time on the Fiscal Year 2023 budget and property tax levy. This will be the first read for the levy ordinance that will be attached to the budget. The overall tax levy will be a little lower than last fiscal years. They levy is lowered new to new construction that is increasing tax revenue since last fiscal year. Also on the agenda is agreeing to put two bond questions to the voters in November, regarding wastewater treatment, stormwater flood mitigation and wildfire suppression infrastructure as well as a bond measure that would create rental and homeownership opportunities for residents of Flagstaff. The meeting starts at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at City Hall. If you can’t attend the meeting you can watch it on the city’s website.
