The Flagstaff City Council will hold a work session Tuesday afternoon at City Hall. Council will hear a presentation from city planners about a list of FUTS trails and other open space that has been ear marked for acquisition by the city. The money that will be used for the purchases will come from the 2004 Neighborhood Open Space and Flagstaff Urban Trail System Land Acquisition Bond Priorities. The bond provides a total of $7.6-million for the purchase of land that falls under the bond’s guidelines. The Open Space Commission has identified 18 open space parcels. Some of the 18 include: Picture Canyon Trial, Hemberg Forest Access, Elks Lodge Trail, Foxglenn Trail, South 89 Trail and Route 66 Trail, among others. The price tag is estimated to be $1.9-million, with about two-million to spend. The work session starts at 3 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Limited seating is available, or you can watch it online on the city’s website.
