Flagstaff City Council Approves Bond To Assist In Creating 139 Affordable Rental Apartments

The Flagstaff City Council recently approved bond funding to assist in creating 139 affordable rental apartments. Council approved $3.33-million in Rental Incentive Bond Program awards, which will be leveraged by other funding sources that will result in the apartments. The San Francisco Square Apartments will serve seniors earning up to 80-percent of the area median income, and the Aspen Loft Apartments will serve people and families earning up to 60-percent of the area median income. Both complexes will be built at the site of the former St. Mary’s Catholic School on 320 North Humphreys Street in downtown Flagstaff. The funding was created by the passage of Proposition 442 by Flagstaff voters in 2022.
