Flagstaff Area High School Coaches And Players Recently Awarded For Athletic Success

Flagstaff area high school athletes and coaches have accomplished some great things this year. On Thursday night, senior Gracelyn Nez was honored for becoming the first high school girls athlete in Arizona history to score 1,000 career points in basketball and have 1,000 career kills in volleyball. Flagstaff High School girls basketball coach Tyrone Johnson became the winningest varsity basketball coach in Flagstaff history, by winning his 325th career game. Coconino High School girls basketball coach Cassie Schrader was named the 2020-2021 girls high school basketball coach of the year by the National Federation of High School Associations. Also, Coconino High School cross country coach Shannon Taylor was named girls high school cross country coach of the year in Arizona by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Congrats to all of those who have made Flagstaff stand out in youth athletics for this year, past years and for years to come.
