A Red Flag Warning and a Wind Advisory is in effect for eastern Arizona through tonight. The warning and advisory will be in effect until 8 p.m. for areas including: Winslow, Holbrook, Ganado, Window Rock and the White Mountains. The National Weather Service says expect strong winds and low humidities today, which makes conditions ripe for the spread of a wildfire should one start. Winds are forecast to be 20-to-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour at times. If you have travel plans, especially in a high profile vehicle on Interstate-40 east of Flagstaff, use caution. Also, if you’re pulling a trailer, make sure chains are up off the highway and don’t toss cigarettes out of your vehicle. One spark could start a fire that could spread very quickly.
