The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Sunday for parts of Northern Arizona. The warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. for the Yavapai Mountains, Coconino and Kaibab plateaus and the Little Colorado River Valley. Locations in the warning area include: Prescott, Prescott Valley, Seligman, the Grand Canyon, the Hopi Nation and most of the Navajo Nation. Winds are expected to be 20-to-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles-per-hour at times. The combination of gusty winds and low humidities can cause a small fire to grow into a wildfire in no time. If you’re traveling Sunday use caution and make sure your trailer chains are off the road and do not throw cigarettes out of the window.
