If you’re heading to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon Wednesday, there will be a prescribed burn underway. Grand Canyon National Park fire managers are resuming the Grapevine Unit burn, which is a half-mile south of the “Duck On A Rock” overlook along Highway 64. Crews have already burned 200 of the project’s 865 total acres. If all goes well, fire managers will move on to the Lonetree Unit 926-acre burn Thursday and Friday. Drivers traveling along Desert View Drive are advised to move along the highway slowly with their lights on, avoid stopping in areas where fire personnel are working and follow directions of signs and personnel.
