The excessive heat warning that has been in effect for parts of Arizona below 5,000-feet this week has been extended until Sunday. The heat warning is in effect for areas including Prescott, Cottonwood, Ash Fork, Camp Verde, Sedona, Cordes Junction, Holbrook, Winslow and Tuba City until 8 p.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service says daytime temperatures will be between 101 to 113 degrees through Sunday. If you plan to be outdoors make sure you drink plenty of fluids and stay as cool as you can. Also do not leave kids and pets unattended in a locked vehicle, even if it’s for a short time. Take extra precautions if you are going to be working or playing in the outdoors this weekend.
