A 75-year-old man had to be evacuated Thursday morning after the trailer he was living in caught fire in Yarnell. Fire crews from Yarnell and Peeples Valley Fire departments were called to an RV Park in the 22-thousand block of Wall Street, along with Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies. When they arrived they found the man, who had gotten out of the home with minor burns and suffering from smoke inhalation. The fire was quickly put out. There were brief evacuations of the area while crews took care of the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown, but the man told authorities he fell asleep while using an electrical space heater. He was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment. Red Cross members arrived at the hospital to provide any housing, clothing or food assistance to the man once he’s released.
