Driver Flees Deputies At Speeds Up To 150 MPH Near Yarnell Last Saturday

YCSO is looking for a driver of a car that fled from deputies Saturday afternoon near Yarnell. Officials say a closure on Interstate-17 caused an influx of driving delays throughout the area, due to the detour. An impatient driver in a four-door Audi sedan pulled off a dead-end road, but when the driver hit the dead end they pulled a 180 and headed back onto Highway 89, hitting a deputy’s vehicle, causing minor damage. The deputy lost the vehicle in the chase, but ended up finding them slowed in traffic ten miles north of Highway 89. As the deputy was attempting to read the temporary tags, the driver began driving aggressively at an estimated speed of over 150 miles-per-hour. If anyone has information on the driver of the vehicle, they are encouraged to call YCSO at (928) 771-3260, or to leave an anonymous tip on the Silent Witness hotline call 1-800-932-3232.
