Day Two “Catch 22” suspect, 34-year-old, Jose Luis Alvarez has been arrested. Yavapai Silent Witness says Alvarez was staying at a home in Prescott last Saturday. Prescott Police went to the home in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue and took Alvarez into custody without incident. Back on June 1st the suspect, Alvarez and the victim, were at a home in the 800 block of Damien Loop in Chino Valley, when Alvarez became aggressive. He then walked out the door and left. The victim gathered her two children and drove to find him. When she found Alvarez, in the 200 block of East Road 1 North, he went to the window and began choking her. She started to roll up the window when he struck and broke it and then continued choking her from outside the vehicle. Her two kids were sitting in the backseat at the time. During the attack, the victim’s head ended up under the steering wheel next to the brake pedal and her feet on the driver’s seat. The victim began to lose consciousness, but was able to use her knees to activate the horn, hoping help would come. Alvarez released his grip on her and she was able to put the car in drive and drive away. While leaving, Alvarez was hit by the vehicle. He was taken to a hospital for injuries and was not arrested at the time. Alvarez was wanted for aggravated assault.
