A Cottonwood teenager has been charged with DUI, and other counts, after a single-vehicle rollover accident last Sunday in Cottonwood. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies arrived in the 22-hundred block of Copper Drive at around 1:30 a.m. and saw a black passenger car resting on its side on the road. They found a 17-year-old boy on the side of the road, saying his hand was hurt and suffered minor scratches on his chest. After saying he and his passenger hadn’t been drinking, a breathalyzer showed the driver had a .153 blood alcohol level, almost twice the legal limit. The passenger admitted they both were drinking while driving. The driver was charged with DUI, DUI drugs based on THC in the driver’s system and underage drinking and driving.
