A Cottonwood teenager was arrested Friday for armed robbery, theft, and resisting arrest after robbing the Cottonwood Wal-Mart. Cottonwood Police officers responded to a report of shoplifting at around 9 p.m. When officers arrived, Wal-Mart employees told officers the suspect filled backpacks with merchandise, armed himself with a shovel, and threatened to kill the employees if they approached him. Officers were able to locate the suspect outside of the store, where the suspect then refused arrest. Officers were finally able to get ahold of the situation, and were able to arrest 19-year-old Miles Rain Edwards. Edwards is now booked in the Yavapai County Detention Center on a paper bond of ten-thousand dollars.
