Cottonwood Police Officers responded to a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in the area of North Main Street and East Gila Street Monday morning. Officials say around 8 a.m., a 66-year-old Cottonwood resident was crossing North Main Street from north to south when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound. The pedestrian was allegedly flown to Flagstaff Medical Center for serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was a 74-year-old woman who also had a passenger with her. It is believed her vision was distorted due to the sun, and showed no signs of impairment while operating the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
