The Coconino Panthers scored first in the 4A quarterfinals Friday, but Cactus reeled off 41 straight points as the Cobras advanced to the semifinals with a 41-7 win. Tyson Fousel broke off a 54-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and the Panthers trailed 13-7 at halftime. The Cobras scored a touchdown on their first drive of the second half and had an interception return for a touchdown on the Panthers next drive to go up 28-7. The Cobras scored 22 points in the third quarter to pull away from Coconino. The Cobras had 357 yards of total offense to 126 yards of offense for Coconino. Fousel led the Panthers with nine carries and 89 yards and a touchdown. Senior Zach Bennett had 21 carries for 39 yards in the loss. The Panthers finish the season 8-1. Cactus will travel to Casa Grande next Friday in the 4A semifinals.
