Coconino High School will have a new principal, next year. After 13 years at Coconino, Stacie Zanzucchi announced Sunday that she is retiring at the end of the school year. She said in an email to current Coconino parents, “along the way I have met and gotten to know so many incredible students and families who share my passion for learning and education. I am writing to let you know that when this school year ends, I will be retiring from this most rewarding career in education.” Zanzucchi has spent nearly 30 years in education and says, “I am extremely grateful for each and every student and I have learned that our young people are kind and brilliant; they are the promise of a better world.” Zanzucchi received her bachelors degree in Spanish Education, and her master’s degree in Bilingual and Multicultural education from NAU, and decided to stay in Flagstaff to teach. Before going to Coconino, she was principal at Marshall Elementary School. Zanzucchi says she plans to spend more time with her growing family after the school year comes to an end.
