Fire managers on the Coconino National Forest are planning to conduct several prescribed burns over the coming weeks. Crews will burn just over a thousand acres on the Horseshoe Basin Project, on the north side of the San Francisco Peaks. Smoke impacts are expected to be light and short in duration. Some smoke could impact areas near Highway 180 and Highway 89, depending on the wind speed and direction. The burn is expected to start Wednesday and last through Friday.
