Coconino National Forest fire crews will conduct pile burns around Flagstaff this week. Fifty acre burns will take place at Chimney Springs and Midway and Mountainaire, while 20 acres of piles will be burned in the A-1 Mountain area and ten acres on the Eastside. Favorable weather conditions will allow crews to take care of the burns. Smoke will be visible from the Flagstaff area, including Interstate 40 and Highway 180. Projects will burn a combination of machine and hand piles comprised of woody material remaining from previous fuels treatments.
