The fifth-seeded Coconino Panthers battled, but fell to fourth-seeded Paradise Honors Tuesday 5-0 to fall into the elimination bracket in the 4A state softball tournament. Paradise Honors scored one in the first and two in the third and two in the fifth en route to the win. Coconino will now host eighth-seeded Bradshaw Mountain Thursday afternoon in Flagstaff. Paradise Honors battles top-seeded Salpointe Catholic, who beat Bradshaw Mountain 11-1 in six innings Tuesday. The two teams will play Saturday. In other games seventh-seeded Mingus upset second-seeded Greenway 6-4. Mingus will play third-seeded Canyon del Oro Saturday. Thursday’s game between Coconino and Bradshaw Mountain will start at 4 p.m. at Coconino High School.
