Coconino County To Hold A Virtual Public Meeting Thursday On Flood Concerns

The Coconino County Flood Control District will hold a virtual meeting to present important information to the communities of Timberline, Wuptaki Trails, Fernwood and Doney Park, Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is regarding the flood threat, risk and mitigation efforts as a result of the Pipeline, Tunnel and Schultz fires. County officials say given the large area impacted by potential flooding from these wildfires and the significant level of information that must be shared, there will not be a question and answer period. Residents and property owners of the neighborhoods mentioned, who have questions, can reach out to the district with questions at: pipelinefirefloodarea@coconino.az.gov. The meeting can be viewed on “Zoom” or on the county’s YouTube channel. The meeting will also be recorded for later viewing. For more information, log onto the county’s Pipeline Fire Flood webpage.  The recent wildfires had no additional impacts to the Museum Fire Watershed.  A future meeting will review potential flood threats and mitigation efforts for the Museum Fire flood area.
