Coconino County and the American Red Cross has opened a “warming station” at the Flagstaff Mall for anyone who may be affected by several power outages in and around Flagstaff. The “warming station” is the home of the county’s vaccination site, which is the old “Denny’s” at the Flagstaff Mall. County officials say some of the outages could last through the night and into Christmas morning. The location will be open as long as there are outages. As of seven p.m. there are at least eight different outages ranging from Fort Valley/Baderville to in Flagstaff to Lake Mary Road. APS says the outages are due to the winter storm that is passing through the area. The storm brought strong winds and heavy, wet snow. Crews are working to get power back on to the affected areas.
