The third-seeded Coconino Panthers amassed 481 yards of total offense as they knocked off the 14th-seeded Estrella Foothills Wolves, 35-22, in a 4A play-in game at Cromer Stadium Friday night. Ryan Seery was 8-of-11 for 203 yards and three touchdowns, Malcom Morris rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns and Tyson Fousel added 90 yards in the win. The victory was the first postseason win for Coconino since 2000 and the first-ever posteseason win for the Panthers at Cromer Stadium. Estrella Mountain quarterback Ty Perry came into the game throwing 11 straight touchdowns without an interception. He was 18-of-34 for 220 yards and two touchdowns and three interceptions in the loss. Coconino advances to the 4A quarterfinals. The Flagstaff Eagles were the 12-seed and played American Leadership Academy Queen Creek Friday. The Eagles trailed the Patriots 31-21 at halftime and fell 58-21. Luis Jaramillo had two touchdowns in the loss. The Eagles ended their season with a 4-4 record. The Panthers fell to the number-five seed after last night’s games in the 4A and will go on the road to take on the fourth-seeded Cactus Cobras.
