City Of Flagstaff, Along With Coconino And Kaibab National Forests And Coconino County, Lift Stage One Fire Restrictions

The City of Flagstaff, along with the Coconino and Kaibab national forests and Coconino County, have all lifted Stage One fire restrictions. The lifting of restrictions doesn’t mean residents shouldn’t be careful though. Outdoor fires of any kind for any purpose within the City of Flagstaff are prohibited except by the authority of a written permit from the fire department. An exception is made for outdoor fires within inhabited premises or designated campsites in a barbecue, outdoor fireplace, incinerator, grill, or any other outdoor fire appliance that are a minimum of 15 feet from any combustible materials or non-fire-resistive vegetation. All outdoor fires should be extinguished properly by drowning fires with plenty of water and stirring to make sure everything is cold to the touch. Fires should never be left unattended as sparks or embers can blow into leaves or grass, ignite a fire, and quickly spread. Stage One restrictions were in effect since June 29th.
