The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has released its Fourth of July holiday activity numbers. Between July 1st and the Fourth of July, deputies responded to 970 calls for service, including both citizen and officer-initiated activities. Forest and community patrols took up 368 calls and total traffic stops had 126 calls. The traffic stops resulted in 13 arrests and 38 citations. Deputies made two arrests for DUI, both resulted in misdemeanor charges. Officials say deputies contacted 58 Off Highway Vehicles over the weekend resulting in 13 citations. There were no serious injuries or deaths due to OHV’s in the county. Over the four days, the Coconino County Detention Center saw 63 bookings. CCSO worked closely with the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Arizona Game and Fish and other Northern Arizona public safety agencies over the four day period.
