The Flagstaff Eagles scored on the very first play of the game, but it was the Camelback Spartans who rallied back with four touchdowns on the next four drives to win 53-20 in the 2022 Flagstaff Kickoff Classic in the Skydome. The Eagles scored on a 69-yard touchdown pass from Brock Maier to wide receiver Tanner Reiff to go up 6-0. The Spartans scored right back as Max Martin found for a 51-yard touchdown to Kehmahn Knight to tie the game at six. Max Martin would toss four touchdowns and wide receiver Jaylen Gillis scored four times in the win. Maier had three touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss. The Eagles will try and regroup and travel east on Interstate-40 next Friday to take on the Winslow Bulldogs. We will have the game on nfhsnetwork.com next Friday starting at 7 p.m. If you haven’t signed up for the service, do that at kaffsports.com/watch.
