The body of a man was found in the Chevlon Canyon area near Winslow Monday after he went missing Saturday evening. Navajo County Sheriff’s officials say deputies were called to the area at around 6:15 p.m. after receiving a report of two people who had fallen near the Chevlon Canyon Bridge off Territorial Road. First responders found 36-year-old Alvina Mann of Winslow, who was rescued from the rocks after she fell trying to reach the man who was with her. Searchers from the Joseph City Fire Department and Gila Valley Search and Rescue couldn’t find the man and resumed Sunday and again Monday. The Joseph City Fire Department Dive Team found the body of 37-year-old Sherwin Yazzie of Winslow Monday. After finding Mann, she was flown to the hospital for treatment. There’s no word on what happened before the man fell.
