Grand Canyon National Park Rangers recovered the body of a 44-year-old man below Bright Angel Point on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a report at around 3:30 p.m., of a visitor who fell from the rim west of the trail. The body was found around 200-feet below the rim. The visitor was off trail when he accidentally fell off the edge. Rangers remind visitors to stay on designated trails and always keep a safe distance from the edge of the rim. In areas where there is a fence or railing, do not climb over the barrier. Also, keep an eye on all the people in your group, especially small children and don’t run, jump or perform physical stunts near the rim. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.
