Bearizona is introducing a new resident on Monday, Veterans Day. The wildlife park in Williams is welcoming its first bald eagle. “Vernon” is a rescue from Virginia and will call Bearizona home. He was named for the home of America’s first president, George Washington, Mount Vernon. “Vernon” was seen fighting with another eagle in what was likely a territorial dispute and suffered injuries that affected his ability to fly. He was rescued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department and made his way to multiple facilities around the country over the last decade, before finding his permanent home at Bearizona. He will be on display on Monday at the park. Admission is free on Monday for all individuals currently serving, or have served in the military.
