Arizona Game And Fish Kills A Mountain Lion In Prescott After It Attacked A Dog In A Residential Backyard

Arizona Game and Fish officials had to kill a mountain lion this past Sunday after it attacked a dog in a backyard in Prescott. Wildlife officers fatally shot the lion in a northwest neighborhood after the incident with the dog, and when it acted aggressively toward the owner. Officials say the lion was an adult female between three-and-five years old, that reportedly had two of her cubs with her at the time. The cubs are said to be in safe hands. The lion is believed to have been one of several mountain lions that have killed three dogs and injured three in the past month. The cubs were safely Also, another mountain lion also appeared within ten feet of a mother and child two weeks ago in their backyards. Game and Fish officials say these behaviors, along with the fact the lions continue to be seen near homes and people, make them a public safety threat.
