All Districts On The Coconino National Forest Are In “Very High” Fire Danger

Fire danger on all three ranger districts on the Coconino National Forest has reached very high. With these conditions, fires will start easily from most causes. Fires will also spread quickly and will intensify in a short period of time under the right conditions. The forest is under Stage One fire restrictions, which means no campfires, unless it is in a managed campground and no smoking unless you are in a building or a vehicle. If you are traveling, don’t toss cigarettes out of the window, if you’re pulling a trailer make sure chains are up off the highway, and if you have to pull over make sure you don’t stop over tall grass and brush.
